European Tombstone are another frequently expensive feature of funerals most associated with interment in a grave

Like caskets, European Tombstone(also called tombstones, grave markers, gravestones or grave memorials) are another frequently expensive feature of funerals most associated with interment in a grave.  The cost of tombstones, unlike costs associated with other aspects of the funeral industry, are less frequently held as suspect or criticized for being outrageously marked up.

The materials used and the time spent in creating a tombstone ensures that each one is a truly customized and durable memorial which many consider well worth the money invested. Still, you do need to be aware of cemeteries that sell gravestones as part of their service, as they limit consumer choice and prevent you from shopping around.  As with all other aspects of funeral planning, you are free to choose a marker from an outside vendor or service.

Before shopping for a tombstone (this is something that can be done after the initial burial since tombstones are not immediately installed), make sure to note to following three factors:

In many cases, a headstone is usually made of heavy granite, marble or equally durable stone material, (with granite considered the best option in most cases due to it's extreme weather resistance and availability in many colors and stone patterns) and can be shaped in a way personalized to the deceased if your cemetery allows for freedom in personalization.

As with many other aspects of funeral planning, you can find deals on grave markers by looking around, both locally and online. Very often, near cemeteries or funeral homes, you will find marker companies in service.  Similarly, the Internet provides a convenient means for headstone makers to keep costs down, as they don't need to provide a showroom or samples since photos are all that are required.

As is the case with other online vendors, these services pass the savings onto the consumer. Using customizable online services to design a headstone can also be a great way to get a preview of your grave marker before you buy it.

While as I noted, granite is most often used, European Tombstone can also be made out of metals or metal alloys such as bronze. Any monument can be engraved.  I would like to caution you that sandstone is one of the weakest materials you can choose, and won't withstand the elements as well as either metal or granite.
